Our dog of the month for February is Darcy

Darcy is officially the most loving and hilarious greyhound her fosterers have ever had the pleasure to live with!

An inquisitive and playful 4 year old girl (she looks older in her pictures due to her grey hair), Darcy is firmly in constant ‘happy mode’. She is confident, very quick to learn and is incredibly good at responding to commands.

In the three months she’s been at her foster home, Darcy has coped admirably with a whole new set of situations, including going on holiday (all the way from Dumfries & Galloway to Orkney); to the vets to be spayed and vaccinated; had her microchip put in; met lots of new people (including children);  has met and played with other medium to large breeds; and won second prize for Best Six Legs at the DCGR Christmas Show!

Darcy absolutely adores people, and never tires of fuss and attention. She would love a forever home where she is either the only dog, or where she shares with other dogs who are laid back (Darcy does like to be the boss of dogs she lives with). She would benefit from a forever home where she is not left for any great length of time as she really does thrive off of having company. Darcy is currently not cat friendly.

Darcy’s fosterers know that it will be a sad day for them when she leaves for her forever home, as she is such a wonderful joy to have around. But, the best thing for Darcy would be to find a permanent home, where she can settle down to enjoy the rest of her retirement. Whoever does welcome Darcy into their lives will very quickly wonder how they ever coped without her!
