Sam My name is Sam. I’m 3 ½ but hadn’t seen anything of the world until I was taken into DCGR foster care. I live in my foster home with three other greyhounds, and I also get on with other breeds of dogs. Once I trust you, I am extremely affectionate, love fuss and am a big fan of squeaky toys (which I was scared of, but now adore!).  I am a slim and small boy, and have been vaccinated and neutered (ouch!). I am very shy of new people, and can get scared in new situations. I’d love a home where I can live with at least one other greyhound or dog, and the people I live with are patient with me when I get a bit nervous.  I’d prefer a fairly quiet home, but I’m still young, have energy and am just learning what fun it is to play! I’d like to live with people who have experience of greyhounds, or of training dogs. My fosterers tell me that while I may need special treatment and training for some time to come, I’m worth every minute of extra effort.	Al - Yes really! Hi, I’m Al and things have really changed for me since I’ve been here in kennels! I am no longer the shy and worried little boy I was, now I am happy and much more confident! I get on with the other dogs here (girls and boys) and I am best mates with Tav – we play together all the time! I love to know what’s going on and want to be right there taking part, and I have discovered my voice! I love to be cuddled now and am very generous with my kisses. I can’t wait to go to my new home and see what’s out there in the world!
SNOWIE Is a pretty little 4 year old girl, daughter of Chic, both girls have come into DCGR kennels together and are settling in well. Snowie has now been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped, she has settled into the kennels and in our opinion is better suited as an only dog, in an adult only home, or ideally homed with her Mum Chic. She is a very loving girl with people who can do anything with her, but she is unsure of herself around other dogs and this can make her appear agressive, to which other dogs do not respond well.	Riever Hello, my name is Riever, I am 5yrs old and I am neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.I have been in the kennels a few weeks now and I had a lovely time at Christmas.Secret Santa Paws came and left all us greyhounds a lovely roast bone.How did he know they are my favourite? I could happily chew on one all day long. I am a large black boy with a cute white bib, I am very very handsome and a really big softie.I love my cuddles and playing with toys.I love my walks  too , I do pull a little bit on the lead but I am learning really fast not to.I get on well the other dogs here, but I haven't met any little dogs yet. I would really love a family of my own, could you be my best pal?
Jet Jet was 2 years old in June and has now been moved into foster care where he has settled in well with the 7 resident dogs.  He is neutered, microchipped and fully vaccinated.  He is a really lovely friendly boy when he gets to know you but is anxious and wary about strangers and new surroundings.  He has been clean in the house from the start and travels well in the car.  He loves the outside world and his walks on the fell and has the makings of a super companion for someone who will show him love and understanding."	TAV I am sturdy Tav and I’ve been waiting a really long time for someone to take me home! They do make a fuss of me here in kennels and I have fun romping around with my friend Al, but I have SO much love to give that if I don’t get a family of my own soon I think I really might burst!!! I love hugs and kisses, it’s the best thing in the world, and I get very excited whenever there is anyone around to cuddle me! Can you give a home to a super-affectionate handsome boy like me? Please?!!!!
Lucy Lucy is in a foster home and has settled in well with the seven resident dogs and one other foster dog.  She has had no accidents in the house and is a very happy little girl who loves human company .  She was four in December and is microchipped, neutered and fully vaccinated.  She walks well on the lead and is fascinated by everything going on around her.  She loves to play and is a little bundle of fun just looking for someone to share their home with her.  Whilst in general she loves the company of other dogs, she is at the moment very protective of her bed and space around it and would possibly be better as the only dog in the home.  Unusually for a greyhound, she can jump and will need secure fencing to make sure she cannot escape!  She has lots of love to give and will undoubtedly make a super pet.	LILLY I am Lilly, I am 4yrs old and I am staying at kennels in Lockerbie.I would love to get to move into one of those  house  things with television and sofa's and things that all us greyhounds dream of really soon. I am a very pretty brindle girl with a lovely white flash on my nose. I love my walks and I am good on the lead and with other  med/large dogs, I haven't met any small ones yet!.I really like children too. At the kennels I am sharing my bedroom with Jack, he is my best mate and I like playing with him. My favourite toys are the sqeaky ones and I love my doggy chews too. I am neutered, vaccinated and spayed.When can I move in?
SHALE Shale here, I am a 4 yr old black boy.I was a Champion on the track you know! I love my walks and I enjoy the company of other dogs.I like dog chews and nice cuddles.I am friendly boy and like playing with Jack in the paddock. I am vaccinated, neutered and microhipped too. I have been such a good boy since coming to the kennels but I dream of having a nice bed by the fire in a home of my own.	JAKE Hello, my name is Jake, I am about five years old and am at present staying my friend Harry. I am still slightly shy of strangers but very happy to see people I know. I "talk" to my foster mum and have taught Harry how to sing! I am still a little wary about getting in the car but am OK once in. I have met lots of other dogs and get on well with them but I still chase cats and rabbits and could not be trusted with cats even if they stood up for themselves. I am beginning to play with toys especially squeaky ones and I haven't stolen any food since before Christmas. I should like a home with an older dog to show me how to behave, but I am a quick learner and quite obedient. I love going for walks with Harry and my foster dad. I would make someone a lovely pet and would give them lots of love.
Alfie  4 years old, big lad Good on lead Vaccinated but not neutered (will be shortly). Not cat friendly and doesnt seem to be small dog friendly. Yet to be tested with bigger dogs but o.k with greyhounds. Travels really well loves cuddles. He is going to Furry Tails Kennels at Langwathby where he will be very well looked after and he can be assessed better.	Leah  Leah is a 1year old hairy lurcher lovely girl shes vaccinated,spayed,and microchipped,she is very much a puppy with lots of energy she is very good with children and other dogs she was brought up with cats though we were told she chased them but so far has not shown interest in them she is clean in the house loves to play with her toys and also loves a real bed and cuddled up beside us on the couch she is a good counter surfer for food though she is learning what no means on the leash she gets a bit excited and jumps and pulls to start with but does settle down she will also sit up and cross her feet when waiting for food or a treat and would love to have her forever home
Charlie My name is Charlie, I am 4yrs old and I am a super handsome boy with White with Black patches over my eyes. I  came into DCGR because I broke my leg , I got to know the vets quite well and they are not too bad but they prescribed kennel rest and then house arrest in my  foster home which has been pretty annoying as when I looked out the window  it looked really exciting. I am sharing with 2 old  greyhound girls and a mad little lurcher, he has really kept me entertained. I got my bandages off last week and have been allowed to have proper little walks, it's great I just wag my tail all the time, anyway today I was allowed into the yard to do the mucking out of the horses, who would have thought mucking out could be so much fun! I love children and other dogs, travelling in the car, in fact, I love everything. I would love to have a home of my own, I still need to continue with my rehab and I may have a little limp, time will tell but it does not stop me having fun and enjoying life.I am neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.	Murph Murph is a happy 4 year old black boy who just came in to DCGR. As you can see he has already made himself at home! He’ll tell you about himself when he has settled in.
Flash Flash is a big gentle balck boy who recently came into DCGR care when he lost interest in racing. We’re not sure of his exact age. More information and a picture once he’s settled in.	Lily 2 Lily is a beautiful little black girl who arrived recently. She is very lively, and very hungry. We’ll let you know more about her as we get to know her, and we’ll get a picture when she stays still long enough!
Mo I am Mo,I am a beautiful brindle and white female.I am 4yrs old.I am vaccinated, neutered and microchipped. I have just moved in to a foster home.Its great fun and I have 3 greyhounds and a lurcher to play with . I like to play with toys and I love a nice walk.I am very good on lead too.I will tell you more once I have settled in.	TIGER ( no pics at the moment)   Tiger has just arrived at the kennels and is settling in well.He is a lovely golden brindle colour and is very cuddly.More information as we get to know him.
