 MAJOR
Major is quite a small dog, around the 30kg mark.  He's quite finely built (with really dainty feet), he's obedient, and walks well on the lead -  He's not cat friendly but is used to having a small child around him. Major is neutered and fully vaccinated, for more information on him please go to our dog of the month page.

Kianew.jpg

KIA
Has been in DCGR foster care for a while now, she is a pretty little lurcher who has just turned one year old. Kia has settled in well with the six resident dogs, large and small and also played well with the two puppies who adored her! Kia is a patient, well behaved and loving little girl, who loves to play but is also very obedient and is clearly intelligent. As Kia is still only a puppy and a lurcher, she does have a bit more energy than the average greyhound, so will need a little more exercise, though it entirely possible that she could be allowed off the lead in a safe environment as she does recall. Kia is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. Kia is our dog of the month for June, for more information about her go to our dog of the month page.

Sadiesitting.jpg

SADIE
Sadie is a pretty 3 year old black greyhound who is house trained, spayed, inoculated and microchipped.  She travels well in the car, is very friendly, playful, and lovable and enjoys her box of toys. Throw her a tennis ball and she will happily fetch it for you to thrown again. When Sadie first arrived she was anxious and panicked over everything especially other dogs as she didn’t know what they were.  Being fostered with other greyhounds in a b & b has helped her overcome many of her anxieties and she now looks forward to meeting the guests and their dogs.  She is an adorable companion, who everyone falls in love with but she still has the odd panic attack when out walking if she sees a strange dog in the distance.  However, with the right handling she soon settles down. Sadie loves cuddling up to other dogs so a home with another dog (not necessarily a greyhound) would be perfect for her along with an owner who is calm and who will continue to help Sadie overcome her panic attacks, which are slowly reducing.

Sox.JPG

SOX
Sox is a 5 year old, smallish, light brindle and white ex-racing greyhound bitch with very fine features, who is fully vaccinated and is spayed. She has a lovely personality and walks extremely well on the lead. She attended her first fundraising event with Graham and Margaret along with Magic and Star at the Longtown Gala and wasn't phased a bit with the crowds and noise. She met other large dogs with no problems whatsoever. She is at present being assessed in foster care and more information will follow as it comes to hand. She has not been cat tested nor tested with smaller dogs.

Jetknew3.jpg

JET
Is a handsome young man, who was 3 years old in February, Jet has just been moved into DCGR foster care where he is settling in well with the other 7 dogs. Jet has been neutered and vaccinated, he is a friendly boy, who loves to play, he has boundless energy, because of this, Jet is not really suitable for a family with younger children, but would ideally suit someone who can give him the exercise he needs. Jet is not cat friendly and is currently being assessed with other dogs. Due to his nervous nature we feel that ideally Jet will need to be homed with another dog for company.
