JAKE Is a handsome six year old boy who has just come into DCGR foster care, where he is settling in well with the other five dogs in the house. Jake is vaccinated, neutered, microchipped and house-trained. Jake is a lovely outgoing dog who loves life and everything in it. He thinks he should come first on all occasions and he tests most things to the limit to see what will be allowed, but he accepts 'No' very readily. Jake is a happy confident dog with a lovely personality, he loves people and other dogs, loves travelling in the car and walks well on the lead, except when he sees rabbits, hares etc.... He will be a dog with whom you could have tremendous fun, but he needs a cconfident owner who will be able to control Jake's enthusiasm.	BEN Is a lovely black ex-racing Greyhound who is currently living in foster care with three other Greyhounds.  He was born on the 1st October 2005 so is 2½ years old and he weighs 66lbs (30k), is neutered, house trained, inoculated and microchipped. Ben travels well in the car but is quite a nervous dog especially around people, however, being amongst other Greyhounds gives him extra courage. He loves cuddling up to them and tries to make them play with him. KELL Is a handsome four and a half year old black boy, who has just gone into DCGR foster care, he is neutered and vaccinated and is settling in well with the two resident small dogs. Kell is a very relaxed boy, who pulls a little on the lead at first, but soon settles down to walk, he is also a food thief, a happy traveller and loves playing with a ball.	SANDY Sandy is a lovely fawn ex-racing Greyhound born on the 18th March 2003. He weighs 81lbs (36.8k), is neutered, inoculated, microchipped and being fostered with three other Greyhounds. Sandy is a very friendly, playful and affectionate boy who has been with his fosterers since early November. In that time he’s learnt to trust them and come on in leaps and bounds. He loves traveling in the car, lets you know when someone comes to the door and is quite a strong dog who used to pull on his lead, but this stopped when he was introduced to a harness. Sandy is still wary of strangers but if they ignore him and let him sniff them they soon find him by their side waiting to be stroked and after that they are his best friend. Sandy is slowly coming to terms with the ‘big wide world’ but still feels frightened and insecure at times so the more socialization he gets the better he will be. To the right home Sandy will make a very loyal and loveable companion. For more information on Sandy click here
GRACE Is a smallish black greyhound bitch who will not be 3 until September. Grace appears to be a quiet and friendly young lady who loves human company, she has now been spayed and vaccinated, is living in the house and getting on well with the three other dogs. She will make someone an excellent companion.
CHARLIE Is a handsome black and white dog who has just come into DCGR kennels, he is neutered and will shortly be vaccinated and microchipped. Charlie is four and a half years old, he is a very friendly boy who loves lots of fuss and attention. More information as we get to know him.
DAWN Is a pretty young blue girl who is just twenty months old, she is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. Dawn is now living in foster care with four other dogs and horses, she has settled in well and is a loving young girl who will make an excellent companion.	DOC Is a very friendly and loving boy who will be four years old in August, he has just come back into DCGR foster care, where he is settling back into his original foster home with three other dogs. Doc is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and housetrained, loves children and adores company, Doc has a slightly nervous disposition and he is not keen on being left on his own for long periods of time he is happier with either another dog for company or better still a human!
FRASER Is a handsome black 3 year old boy who has now been moved into a foster home where he is settling in really well with the five resident dogs and one other foster dog. Fraser is a lovely boy who walks well on the lead and is very friendly, at the moment he is very food focused but now that he is in foster care he is quickly learning that not all food is for him, though he does make a good thief! Fraser has now been neutered and housetrained, he is very playful and loving and will make someone a great companion.	ROB Is a handsome fawn dog who has just come into DCGR kennels, he has now been neutered and vaccinated and will be microchipped shortly. Rob appears to be an easy going boy, who is friendly and playful, more information as we get to know him.

The Animal's Refuge - Wetheral Carlisle   The Animal's Refuge at Wetheral Carlisle, have a number of beautiful lurchers looking for homes - we will update this site as soon as possible with pictures and names, but in the mean-time if you are interested in re-homing a lurcher please contact the Animal's Refuge on 01228 560082 .

I’m also up to date with my vaccinations and am microchipped and neutered. Can you help me find my forever home? Tyke TYKE – Looking for a home Tyke is a beautiful looking 1 year old lurcher X. He came into the Centre from the vets as he had been found hanging on a wire fence. Tyke is very loving and playful and has the greatest nature and temperament you could wish for despite all he has been through.  He is still recovering and on limited exercise. Billy is not able to race any more, but he is very friendly and loving and is now looking for his forever home. He needs a home without cats.   Talisker TALISKER – Looking for a home Talisker is a lovely looking lurcher and is approximately 23 weeks old. He has a very good temperament and is very bouncy and excitable and is ok with children. As he is still very young he would benefit from going to dog training classes. Talisker shares his kennel with Bramley and they get on well together, they can be homed separately but if you have room for both you can have twice as much fun. Are you looking for your soul mate? She is nice natured and gentle and loves to run round the paddock with her kennel mate Talisker. They play chase and roll round together. Bramley is a nice little dog but she needs a home with no cats or near any sheep. She is ok with children. They can be homed separately, but they get on very well together.
