DARCY

Darcy has been in foster care for 3 months now, despite being one of the most loving and hilarious greyhounds her fosterers have ever had the pleasure to live with. Darcy settled in very quickly to her foster home (which includes 2 resident greyhounds), is confident, very quick to learn and is exceptionally good at reacting to commands. She is a large(ish) girl (roughly around 35kg), has been spayed, vaccinated and microchipped but is not cat friendly. Darcy absolutely adores people, and loves getting lots of fuss and attention. Darcy would prefer a forever home where she is either the only dog, or where any other dogs are very laid back and docile (she loves to be the boss!), and where her humans have plenty of time to spend playing, walking and continuing to train her.

BEN
Ben, pictured above at his favourite occupation, watching TV, has settled into DCGR foster care very well with no accidents in the house, he is not cat friendly but is very good with children he is also a very loving dog and has a very sweet nature. Unfortunately Ben is blind in one eye but this does not hold him back at all and he will make someone a very happy companion. For more information on Ben go to our dog of the month page.

Bootstanding.jpg

BOOT
Boot is a very quiet young man who has been in DCGR kennels for a few weeks now, he takes everything in his stride and is very biddable, we are hoping that once he has been settled into a foster home, he will start to come out of his shell a bit more. He walks well on the lead, though he does like to lean against you even when walking, so is not suitable for an older person as he is quite a big dog. Boot has been neutered and vaccinated.

DANNY
Is a handsome boy who was four years old in December, he has been in DCGR kennels for nearly three months now as unfortunately we have no spare foster homes. Danny has been neutered and is fully vaccinated, he walks very well on the lead his regular walker says she doesn't know he is there, he is an easy going, loving, playful boy who loves his toys. He will make someone a very loving companion, Danny is not thriving in the kennels and ideally needs to be homed as soon as possible, we believe that he would probably settle into a home environment very quickly, if given the chance.

JAKE
Jake is a handsome black Greyhound who is just four years old and is presently being fostered with 3 other greyhounds.  He weighs 72½ lbs (33k) and is house trained, neutered, inoculated and microchipped. Jake is a very friendly laid back lad who settled into his foster home very quickly and he travels well in the car, walks nicely on the lead and seems fine with children and other dogs. Jake is very playful and loves to run in the fields with the other dogs, he will make someone an excellent companion.

Chiefstanding.jpg

CHIEF
Is a handsome mainly black with a touch of white boy, who was two years old in September. Chief is currently in DCGR kennels awaiting a place in foster care, he is neutered and fully vaccinated. He is very inquisitive and has to find out what everything is as quickly as possible and doesn't hesitate to put his head where he shouldn't! Chief is a lively, full of life boy who wants to play and have fun as any two year old dog should. More information as we get to know him.

Susy.jpg

SUSY
Has come back into DCGR foster care, after being homed last summer, as her owner was no longer able to take care of her. Susy is a small girl, who is neutered, fully vaccinated and house-trained. Susy has settled well back into her original foster home, which she currently shares with 8 other dogs large and small. It appears that Susy had not been left on her own for some time, as she was also slightly unfit, though has now been remedied and she is fighting fit! Susy has now settled at night and can be left during the day, though she does still get a bit anxious about this. Susy is a very loving little girl, but she would probably settle better with another dog for company, or suit a retired couple who would be around most of the time.

Flash1.jpg

FLASH
Is a handsome 7 year old gentleman who has been in DCGR foster care for some weeks now, where he has settled in really well with the 7 resident dogs. He is a lovely boy who is a bit reserved when he first meets someone new or is put into a strange situation, but it doesn't take him long to 'come round' as he enjoys being made a fuss of and is very loving and good natured. He will make someone a fantastic pet. Flash is neutered and fully vaccinated and microchipped.

Deacon101.jpg

DEACON
Came into DCGR foster care, complete with broken hock back in November, despite this he settled in with the 6 resident dogs and 1 other foster dog and got on well with everyone, he has now been moved to a different foster home, where he is living happily with three other greyhounds. He was two years old in September, is neutered and fully vaccinated and is an easy going character who has patiently put up with all the treatments he has had to have since having the operation to repair his leg. As Deacon is now out of plaster and has been putting more and more weight onto his leg, though he does favour it when tired, it was felt that he would benefit from a move to a foster home where his foster mum could give him more gentle excercise to help with his rehabilitation. He has a great sense of mischief and loves to play with squeaky and cuddly toys alike, he is very loving and will make someone an excellent companion - ideally he will need a home where he will not be required to undertake long walks as he will always have a weakness in his injured leg, though the other three legs can more than compensate!

Taffy2.jpg

TAFFY
Is a handsome if slightly battle-scarred boy who is just over three years old, he has just come into DCGR kennels where he has settled in well alongside Boot. He has a lovely friendly nature, likes to play and is very good on a lead, he does have a few scars and only half a tail, but he does do a lot of tail wagging! Taffy is a very intelligent boy who is quick to learn and we are sure he will bring lots of fun into the life of anyone who adopts him.

Blackiestanding09.jpg

BLACKIE
Is a handsome boy who was 7 years old in May. Blackie has now been moved into a foster home where he has settled in well with the 7 resident dogs and one other foster greyhound. Blackie is neutered and fully vaccinated, he walks well on the lead and loves being made a fuss of, he is not cat friendly.
