Scotland's Open Gardens
DCGR have been invited to Quothquan Gardens near Biggar as part of Scotland's Open Gardens to show off the greys and to possibly have a small sales table on 11th June. To man the stall, Graham and Margaret with Molly and Sky, Viv with 1 (or 2) of hers and Chris and Brian with Evie and Nina have agreed to attend. DCGR will benefit from 20% of the takings and our thanks to Gillian Pollock for inviting us.
The Garden includes:-
Lilyvale: Taking the twists and turns along the narrow paths of this intimate plantsman's gardens is rewarded with a large collection of unusual hardy perennials, alpines and mature shrubs. There is a woodland area with rhododendrons and azaleas, a fruit orchard and a vegetable garden to explore.
Curling Pond House: The garden is dominated by a large stream fed pond with its resident Moorhens. The banks are planted with colourful late spring flowers, Primula species abound. The garden features the former Shieldhill Castle curling rink, a pergola walk, specimen trees and shrubs and a sweeping perennial border.
Directions
